Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our client at a secondary school in Manchester starting in November 2024. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the classroom setting. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people by helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. Key Responsibilities: Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN. Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them understand lesson content and complete assignments. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding individual learning needs. Collaborate with other staff members, including special education coordinators and external professionals, to develop effective strategies for supporting students. Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social interactions among students. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to SEN support. Qualifications: Previous experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, particularly with SEN students, is highly desirable. A relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent is preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping young people succeed.
