We are currently recruiting for a Hydraulics Technician to join our Hydraulic and Industrial Hose Division, which supplies products and solutions for a diverse range of customers across the north of Scotland. Products include hoses, tubing and couplings, valves, adaptors and fittings, clamps and clips, industrial hose assemblies and swage and pressure test hoses.
Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for ensuring the manufacture of hydraulics assemblies, hose assembly, testing and providing advice to customers at the sales counter. You will need to have a positive can-do attitude and be capable of managing your own time and prioritising your workload in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. To undertake hydraulic hose manufacture and assembly in accordance with specifications.
2. Carry out precision measuring and testing following the set procedures.
3. Serve customers at the Trade Counter, providing excellent customer service through detailed advice and guidance on a range of hydraulic products.
4. Create orders in line with the customer specifications.
5. Where necessary, liaise with the sales team regarding non-stock enquiries.
6. Liaise with the purchasing team regarding stock shortages.
7. Liaise with the despatch team to ensure goods will reach customers on time.
8. Ensure that tools, plant and equipment are kept in a clean and workable condition, along with keeping the work environment in a clean and tidy state.
9. Undertake other warehouse duties such as order picking, booking in and putting away stock and stock taking.
Skills and Experience
1. Must have experience in swaging and hose assembly.
2. Will ideally have a relevant qualification and must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role.
3. Must be able to diagnose and subsequently repair defects and will understand PUWER regulations.
4. Must be committed to customer care and be able to provide a confident approach to addressing customer queries face to face.
5. Will be IT literate, with good numeracy and literacy skills.
6. Must be flexible in approach to work with the ability to take instruction and then work with minimal supervision.

All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK and already be living within a commutable distance of Inverness.
This role will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday with a Saturday morning rota (paid as additional hours).
