We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Security Operations Manager to join our Cyber Security team.
Job Type: Permanent
Location: This role could be based in either our Edinburgh, Telford or Wythall offices with time spent working in the office and at home.
Flexible working: All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process.

Salary and benefits: £60,000 - £75,000 plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more.
The role:
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Security Operations Manager to oversee and enhance our security measures, ensuring the protection of our people, assets, data and reputation.
As a Security Operations Manager you will lead a team of security professionals, develop and implement security protocols, monitor threats, respond to incidents and ensure compliance to regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee daily operations of the cybersecurity team, ensuring effective monitoring and response to threats.
* Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard organizational assets.
* Manage security incidents, including detection, analysis, containment, and resolution.
* Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate potential threats.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with security standards and regulations.
* Lead and mentor the cybersecurity team, providing training and performance evaluations.
* Monitor and analyse security tools like SIEM and EDR solutions.
* Prepare detailed reports on security incidents and overall security posture for senior management.
What are we looking for?
* Strong understanding of cyber security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
* Proficiency in security tools and technologies, such as EDR, Firewall, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
* Expertise in incident response, threat intelligence, and malware analysis.
* Leadership and team management skills to guide and motivate our cyber security team.
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and develop effective solutions.
* Excellent communication skills for reporting to stakeholders and collaborating across teams.
