Assistant Chief Engineering – Safety (PWR1 and PWR2) - Submarines

As the Assistant Chief Engineer – Safety, you hold a key strategic role to define and support the delivery of the PWR1 & 2 Safety strategy and the associated programmes of work.
You will lead and develop a small team, interfacing regularly with external customer stakeholders at all levels, participating in formal reviews associated with safety governance and assurance, and having the opportunity to travel to customer operational bases. This role offers a broad variety of experiences and an excellent platform to develop and progress through the business.
Responsibilities:
* Provide strategic engineering direction for all emergent and planned PWR1 and PWR2 safety campaigns undertaken by the business.
* Act as the primary point of contact for strategic PWR1 and PWR2 safety case matters with internal specialists, suppliers, external customers, and other stakeholders.
* Provide safety programme leadership, complying with the Engineering function's policies and within the Chief Engineer’s Terms of Reference.
* Maintain appropriate engagement with internal/external stakeholders to ensure nuclear safety case activities are correctly focused, integrated, efficient, and effective.
* Represent the Chief Engineer in discussions with customers and other stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for:
* Technical Leadership experience in a highly regulated environment (Defence/Nuclear/Aerospace/Oil and Gas).
* Knowledge of product safety & regulatory requirements.
* Experience dealing with customers and senior stakeholders in meetings/reviews/committees.
* Project Management capabilities and experience.
* Relevant Science/Engineering degree.

Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently have this in place.
