The department The Norwich Commercial Real Estate team at Birketts is expanding its core team We are seeking a Team Administrator to come and join us. The role will be based from our recently refurbished Norwich office, a 10 minute walk from the city centre and train station. Together, as a collaborative firm, we have close to 1000 people working with us and we are ranked highly in the Legal 500 across all areas we practice in. Our Commercial Real Estate team advises a wide variety of clients ranging from landlord/tenants to developers/land owners based regionally and also across the UK. Accountabilities Playing an important role within the Commercial Real Estate team you will be responsible for: File opening including checking compliance requirements, setting up paper and e-files and folders, conflict searches and Companies House documentation; Scanning and photocopying of hard copy correspondence and documents and e-filing on our document management system; Printing and binding engrossment documents for signature; Being proficient in a variety of software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel to produce correspondence, documents and spreadsheets; File closing and other administration in accordance with our client’s requirements and compliance standards; Dealing with paperwork with our Accounts team for the processing of payments. Arranging meetings and appointments. Scheduling and managing deeds to ensure records are kept up to date. Downloading, saving on our document management system and printing documents from datarooms. The Candidate will be working closely with the existing Team Administrator and Legal Secretary to service the team. The candidate The role would suit an individual who enjoys working as part of a team to help provide professional support to fee earners and the existing support team. You will be enthusiastic and well organised individual with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Excellent IT ability will be required, with good knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) You will be able to manage a varied workload and work efficiently and effectively under pressure and to deadlines You will be assisting our support team with their day to day tasks and administrative work You will be able to show initiative when responding to queries and actively try to seek solutions to problems You will be able to support and build working relationships with the fee earners as well as our support team to actively work for the whole team You will be able to support and build working relationships with your colleagues in the team.
