A leading manufacturing company in the Nuneaton area require a Design Engineer - Control Systems with experience of electrical/controls systems to design and support new and existing products across the product lifecycle.
Design Engineer - Control Systems
Accountabilities & Key tasks
* Development of control systems and solutions to support business goals and objectives
* Electrical product design and continuous improvement of products to defined specifications
* Investigation of new technologies, methods of construction and processes across the company’s product portfolio focusing primarily on electrical assemblies
* Investigation of new technologies and critically assessing them for this suitability to promote innovation within the company
* Generation of accurate and correct component and assembly drawings using CAD systems
* Generation of BoMs to enable products to be released into production
* Identification of electrical areas in active projects that can be value engineered
* Liaising with external manufactures and suppliers for the purposes of agreeing and establishing specifications
* Generation of wiring diagrams for both end users and production department
* Technically able to interpret product safety and performance standards and to create and critically review designs in conformance to them
* Being proactive in approach and fostering good working relationships with colleagues across the business on a national and international basis
* Identification of areas for improvement within the existing manufacturing process
* Prototype construction and performance evaluation
* To support technical support team as 2nd stage escalation with either over the phone support or site attendance if required
Educational and professional level
* HND, BEng or MEng in Electrical Or Electronics Engineering
Type and depth of experience
Requirements
5 years+ in electrical product design
Strong and rigorous approach to design
Proven record of identifying new technologies to drive innovation
Experience in motor control, PID control of heaters, HMI, SCADAs, Building Management Systems, BACnet, Modbus etc.
Desirables
Product design experience within the HVAC industry
Experience fault finding electrical circuits
18th Edition qualified
Experience of simulation engineering
