A fantastic opportunity has arisen for dedicated and self-motivated Band 6 Physiotherapists to join the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Service within Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Service includes core MSK Physiotherapy, Orthopaedic Triage and Pain Management. We provide specialised MSK Outpatient Physiotherapy to the diverse local communities across twenty clinic sites. We accept referrals from GPs, ACPs and Allied Health Professionals, as well as patient self-referrals. We are looking for suitably qualified Physiotherapists to join our friendly and innovative team. Evidence of substantial post graduate experience of working in an Outpatient Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy environment is essential and previous NHS experience is desirable. You will usually be timetabled to work out of a maximum of two different clinics over your working week. We will take into account any requests to work in a certain geographical location however, you may be required to move base as service demands alter. Operating hours are from 7am to 7pm in some clinics across the city and there may be the opportunity for flexible working. Main duties of the job We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about providing first class assessment & treatment to people with a variety of both chronic and acute MSK disorders.You should be able to demonstrate up to date knowledge & evidence of CPD in MSK Physiotherapy & be prepared to contribute to our comprehensive IST programme & clinical interest groups. You will be responsible for managing your own patient caseload within a supportive & experienced team and it is likely that you will supervise junior members of staff and students. There will be the opportunity to initiate, lead on & contribute to service development initiatives and be involved in regular audits.There will be the opportunity to complete a rotation through our well respected Pain Management Service. About us We are a friendly team striving to work in an evidence-based practice & we aim to support your learning needs throughout. You will have a designated mentor (at Band 7) with whom you can meet with on a monthly basis to help with your development. As a wider MSK service, we meet in groups of clinicians (comprising of Band 3-8b) on a monthly basis to work on a specific project related to developing our Service. Recent projects have included 'The Use of a Cranial Nerve Examination in MSK Practice', 'Behavioural Change' & 'Red Flags'. These monthly meetings are also used for IST & to discuss complex case scenarios. You will have your own CPD time to be used for personal development such as peer sessions with other clinicians, shadowing of the Orthopaedic Triage or Pain Management Service or attending courses. Course funding may be available subject to service requirements. You will also have the opportunity to participate in service development such as clinical audit, overseeing the running of classes & project based initiatives. Each clinic is made up of a variety of clinical banding levels. You will therefore have the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by supervising more junior members of staff on a daily basis. For your own development, you will also have access to Advanced Clinical Practitioners & Consultant Physiotherapists.
