Management Accountant
Salary/Hourly Rate – £36,492 to £45,615 per annum (plus benefits)
Hours – 37.5 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm

As a Management Accountant at FCC Environment, you will provide preparing periodic divisional re-forecasts and annual budgets as well as developing, and presenting new reporting aimed at improving the understanding of waste profiles, waste flows and key profit drivers within the division.
This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).

What will you be doing?
•Supporting the Senior Finance Manager and the FSSC to prepare, and critically review, the divisional monthly results, to bring integrity and understanding to the regional P&L and cashflow.
•Prepare and present insightful monthly reporting and interpretation of divisional financial performance by activity and/or area including analysis of critical deviations from plan, budget or forecast.
•Assist operations where necessary, to understand the financial performance within the division and provide guidance on the key drivers to improve that performance. Support operations to deliver and improve upon planned economic profit.
•Visit sites to challenge financial performance / coach financial awareness.
•Support the Senior Finance Manager and operations to develop and implement initiatives designed to enhance regional financial performance.
•Utilise customer reporting to provide insightful analysis on volume and income movements.
•Monthly Business Reviews: support, prepare and challenge the divisional Area Managers and Contract Managers as required.
•Periodic Re-Forecasts: support, prepare and challenge the divisional Area Managers and Contract Managers as required.
•Annual Budget/Business Plan: support, prepare and challenge the divisional annual budget / business plan as required.
•Support operations as necessary, in the preparation of capital expenditure requests requiring approval, including but not limited to, investment appraisals to produce NPV, IRR’s, and sensitivity analysis as appropriate and challenge the AMs on all necessary costs and likely cash-flows and cost benefits.
•Help in the development of waste flow models for the division, designed to improve the understanding of both the profiles of waste mix and the flows of waste within the region between different activities.
•Help to prepare the monthly suite of KPI’s to help drive the performance of the division.
•Where divisional financial processes are deemed sub-optimal, to develop and implement changes with the Senior Finance Manager, operations and FSSC designed to improve their effectiveness.
•Look to drive process improvements across all contracts in the division.
•Assist in developing and implementing business processes for new and revised contracts.
•Assist in the review of Commercial and Business Development models with operations, ensuring accuracy of bid data and operational ability to deliver. Feedback issues / concerns to Commercial / BD teams.
•Assist, as required, in the development and implementation of group systems.
•Provide holiday/sickness cover for other divisional finance teams as necessary.
•Undertake Divisional ad-hoc projects and analyses as required.
•Deputise for Senior Finance Manager when required.
