The role: Electrical Engineer
The purpose of the Electrical Engineer is to support the Area Operations Manager (AOM) and Technical Supervisor by providing reactive and planned preventative maintenance for building engineering systems and services.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Maintaining low voltage (LV) electrical systems and performing PPM routines.
2. Repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and fixtures.
3. Delivering small projects and assisting with project handovers.
4. Ensuring compliance with BS7671 wiring regulations.
5. Diagnosing and repairing faults.
6. Calibrating risk assessments for maintenance tasks.
7. Liaising with helpdesk for task responses.
8. Maintaining site logbooks, compliance certification, and producing reports.
9. Participating in emergency call-out services and supporting cost reduction efforts.
10. Supporting the team with any other needs as requested by the Technical Supervisor and/or AOM.
Person Specification:
Candidates should demonstrate:
1. Skilled work requiring technical training (NVQ level 3 or equivalent).
2. Willingness to undertake CBRE refresher training in areas such as emergency circuit breaker and fuse theory, emergency lighting testing and light fitting replacement including safe isolation, water heater testing including safe isolation, and fire alarm testing.
Essential Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed an apprenticeship or equivalent formal training in electrical installation and maintenance, with sufficient practical experience to be assessed as electrically competent. They must hold:
1. A City and Guilds Level 3 technical certificate or equivalent in an electrical discipline.
2. A City and Guilds Level 3 certificate in the requirements for electrical installations BS 7671 (18th Edition). Note: In exceptional cases, an applicant without this qualification may still be considered if obtained within 3 months of appointment.
