What skills and experience we're looking for
St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, Moorthorpe is seeking to appoint a hard-working and motivated Teaching Assistant. We believe our school is a special place, well known for caring well for our children. Our aim is for each child to thrive within our Catholic school community and to fulfil their potential in every way possible. We want all children to find school life interesting, challenging and enjoyable, whilst feeling safe, secure and valued. The school has a dedicated team of staff and governors that work hard to reach high standards in everything we do.
This role is for 3 days per week, the working days can be discussed on successful appointment with the choice of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience of working to support children's learning in an educational setting
* Inspires children with a love of learning, demonstrates shared commitment to raising standards, and provides support for all children
* Will be inspirational in your teaching support and involve the children as independent, successful, and active learners
* Has high expectations and will nurture and encourage our children to fulfil their potential
* Has good numeracy and literacy skills
* Has an awareness of child/young person's development and learning
* Has an understanding that children/young people have differing needs
* Is patient, able to stay calm, and listen to pupils' views
