About BEAR Scotland

Together, they manage two of Scotland’s four Trunk Road Maintenance Contracts (South-East & North-West) for Transport Scotland. In addition, BEAR Scotland leads two major DBFO contracts: M80 Stepps - Haggs and A92 Dundee - Arbroath.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Landscaping Operative to join BEAR Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Preparation/inspection of machinery and equipment for days work
2. Attend all relevant toolbox talks
3. Filling in of weekly timesheet and relevant paperwork where required
4. Report vehicle defects and ensure that accidents/incidents are reported accordingly
5. Any other duties as required
6. General landscaping duties including grass cutting, weed control, etc.
Your Skills And Experience
We are interested in hearing from candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
Essential:
1. Experience of landscape works
2. Basic knowledge of landscape operations and machinery
3. Preferably hold a current driving licence
4. Ability to develop skills within the department
5. Ability to carry out basic reporting
6. Good at working in a team
7. Good work ethic
8. Good communication skills
9. Knowledge of the requirement of Health and Safety rules and procedures
10. Physically fit for working in sometimes arduous conditions
11. Ability to problem solve
12. Flexible to working practices
13. Ability to cope with change
14. Good planning and organisational skills
