We need aSenior Project Manageraspart of a dynamic specialist team to deliver the adoption of clinical transformation and change to improve outcomes for patients and enable successful delivery of the ambitions of the Long-Term Plan for Cancer. The role will manage the smooth and effective delivery of projects across early and faster diagnosis, treatment variation and personalised care.
You will need to have extensive experience ofsuccessful delivery of complex strategic healthcare projects working in partnership across organisational boundaries and to achieve results through others who may not be direct reports.

• Be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of projects on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner.
• Using insight and evidence for improvement by placing data at the heart of everything we do so that our implementation is rooted in best evidence.
• Provide leadership for transformational change by modelling a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes. Embedding this approach across the Cancer Alliance.

Somerset, Wiltshire, Avonand Gloucestershire Cancer Alliance (SWAG CA) constituent ICBs are Bristol, NorthSomersetand South Gloucestershire (BNSSG); Somerset; Gloucestershire; Bath,Swindonand Wiltshire (BSW).
SWAG CA is hosted by North Bristol NHS Trust for the purposes of formal employment and the provision of back-office support to the Cancer Alliance.
The post holder is hybrid working with a minimum of 40% office based within the SWAG CA geography.
The post holder willbe requiredto travel across theSouth West.
Key Responsibilities and activities

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to enable the post holder to communicate to a wide range of audiences both internal and external (essential).

• Responsibleforpreparationofproject plans, progress reports, complexpapers,as directed by the Programme Manager.

• The post holder is in regular contact by telephone, letter, and email, or at meetings with organisations. Communication may be verbal, electronic, written or by attending and contributing to meetings and/or giving presentations.

People Management
• Provide line management for the project team as required/delegated.

• Motivate, manage and mentor staff within the team.

Financial Management
• Ensure compliance with all appropriate legal and statutory requirements including standing financial instructions.
• Supportingbudgeting,forecastingandtrackingspend ofactivities.
• Supportthedevelopmentofbusinesscasesfor resourcing and activities expenditure.
• Continuallystrivefordeliveringbusiness/activities/function outcomes, value for money and greater efficiency.

Planning and Service Development
• Maintain clear strategic direction for the Cancer Alliance that is consistent with the overall objectives of Cancer Alliances.
• Support funding bids templates and processes, etc as necessary for the development of ICB cancer plans.
• Attend meetings as appropriate for business and planning purposes.
• Contribute to the development and achievement of the cancer alliance objectives including support of systems integral to the cancer alliance.
• Proposechangestoownarea,informingpolicyandmaking recommendations for the delivery of other activities.
• Contributeondevelopment,implementation,monitoringandevaluationof new information systems.
• Contributetothedevelopmentofperformanceandgovernancestrategies and the development and implementation of improvement programmes.
Information Management
• Manipulate information using MS access, MS Excel etc and present data (verbal and written) using these software packages and others MS Word, MS PowerPoint etc.
• To keep accurate departmental records, both manual and computerised, maintain their confidentiality, participate in maintaining databases and retrieval and preparation of statistical data and reports, as required.
• Ensure robust information systems are in place to support performance monitoring of plans within the cancer alliance including the preparation of reports for the senior management team.
• Collate as required, a range of information and lead appropriate analysis to develop robust business cases and contribute to project ‘products’.
• Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making.
Key Working Relationships
• Operate effectively in a flexible and demanding environment and proactively engage with key stakeholders.
• Work effectively with a variety of external consultancies working on other projects and programs within other NHS directorates as required.
• Nurture key relationships and maintain networks internally and externally.
• May deputise for the Programme Manager as required.
• To act as a champion for patients and their interests and involve the public and patients in the policy development and decision-making of SWAG CA.
