The British Red Cross has been a lifeline for people in crisis for over 150 years, providing several levels of care to members of the public in times of need.
Salary: £22,625 - (pro rata for less than 35 hours)
Work Location: Community (Rushcliffe, Nottingham East and West) - Travel is paid at 45p per mile.
As a Healthcare Assistant you will:
Provide invaluable contribution to the Community Crisis Support Service and its users.
Provide short term crisis support to people in their homes, helping to keep them out of hospital.
Assess clients' needs and develop a care plan to fit them.
Provide support with personal care, medication prompts, end of life care, light meal and drinks preparation and emotional support.
Hours:
The Vacancy is for 35 or 30 hours per week, you could be working across any of the hours over 7 days; Monday to Sunday.
Shifts are normally 7 hours per day. Shift patterns are 7.00am to 2.30pm daily with late shifts from 2.30pm until 10pm and shifts are on a 4-week rolling rota working 2 weekends out of 4. You will receive your annual planned rota in advance.
We will work with you to try and make shifts compatible with your other commitments (for example, childcare, study etc).

To be considered for this position you must have following skills and experience:
Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent by experience)
Ability to communicate with health and social care professionals
Ability to deal with service user queries in a diplomatic, professional and confidential manner
Knowledge of supporting service users, who may be disabled and/or frail, cognitively impaired
