HCB Widdows Mason is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Legal Assistant to join our Residential Property team. This role is an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in helping clients navigate their residential property transactions while gaining valuable experience in the legal sector. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Handling queries from clients, solicitors, lenders, and estate agents
* Providing regular updates to clients regarding their property transactions
* Opening and closing files in compliance with the firm's AML and regulatory standards
* Conducting administrative tasks related to property transactions
* Preparing and submitting quotes and drafting completion statements
* Reviewing mortgage offers and preparing relevant reports with supervision
* Conducting online property searches
* Utilising the Land Registry portal to submit registrations and manage requisitions
* Calculating Stamp Duty Land Tax and submitting applications
* Assisting with billing and financial matters within the team
* Providing occasional reception cover as required
Requirements
* Previous experience in a legal assistant role is preferable but not essential
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work well under pressure
* Attention to detail and accuracy in document handling
