Initial Contact Support Worker Hours: 35 per week (Full time) Contract: Permanent Monday to Friday Flexibility on start and finish times to support a work-life balance, incorporating our public opening times of 9.30am - 16.30pm Salary: £23,500 per annum, (rising to £24,000 after successful completion of a 6-month probationary period) Compulsory participation in the 2nd Tier out of hours on-call rota (paid) All team members must work flexibly on occasions to meet the needs of the Charity and the people we support Purpose of the post: You will deliver specialist support services to people experiencing any form of Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and/or Sexual Violence (VAWDASV). Based in our Hwb's you will respond to referrals and undertake initial assessments. You will be key to helping people identify which services they want and need, coordinating their pathway into both external and internal services. You will case hold the people who present immediate crisis and safety concerns, until such times as their immediate needs are met, and risks reduced. You will also case hold people who opt to use the Hwb for drop-in style support. Specific Responsibilities Provide a friendly, accessible and responsive service to people contacting or referred to Cyfannol for support Provide planned, drop-in and emergency appointments in person at our Hwb, at any outreach centres and through online means when requested Provide a daily response to external referrals via Arbitras Provide people with information, intitial support needs assessment, risk assessment and safety planning services Assist people in indentifying and managing any immediate safety and safeguarding concerns and support them to contact the police and social services if appropriate. (following all currently agreed protocols, especially where we have a duty to report even without consent) Provide signposting and referral to any external services the person chooses to access, and coordinate access to internal services. When immediate emergency refuge accommodation is requested, assess the suitability for our own refuges, liasing with service coordinator. If refuge is requested in another area, liaise appropriately with that agency and arrange transportation if needed Complete Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) referrals for people experiencing high-risk VAWDASV Manage the recording of all contact with, and work done for, the person onto our Case Management System Collaborate and keep in touch with colleagues in our other Hwb's to ensure consistency of approach, sharing information and providing virtual cover during absences General Responsibilites Contribute to the: Development and achievement of our Vision, Mission and Objectives Promotion of our values, culture and aspirations Creation of a safe, supportive, reflective and explorative working environment Promotion of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Upholding of our Polices and Procedures It may be necessary, following consultation, to amend the job description in light of experience and changing circumstances A current valid driving licence, access to a car and insurance covering business use is essential.
