Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated leader to join us at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust as a Lead Nurse on the Neonatal Unit, to help drive change and support in the forward planning of the neonatal service. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional role model who will be able to lead and coordinate the nursing team whilst being accountable for the overall provision for excellent nursing care delivery to neonates and their families. You will be dynamic, have excellent communication skills and have knowledge and experience in caring for neonates. We are a busy Local neonatal unit inclusive of 2 intensive cots, 2 high dependency cots and 10 special care cots. In addition to the inpatient care you will lead a inspirational Neonatal Outreach team and work closely with the Neonatal Governance and Education lead nurse. 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday working with occasional unsocial shift to support the staffing rota Interview dates: Mon, 31 Mar 2025 Main duties of the job To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Neonatal Unit, ensuring high standards of patient care and safety. The post holder must demonstrate effective and visible leadership, which motivates and empowers staff and act as a role model for all. Your role will involve driving and embedding quality improvements within the service. Work autonomously and to be effective and responsible for supporting others and exploring mechanisms to develop new ways of working. Showcasing strong clinical leadership, providing supervision and support to the nursing team to advance clinical excellence. Promoting open and effective communication about complex or challenging issues, overcoming any barriers to communication.
