Role: Childminding Adviser
Salary: £31,680pa pro rata
Location: Hybrid/Whitstable, Kent
This is a part-time role based on 24 hours over 4 days a week.

What You’ll Bring:
The Education People are looking for a dedicated professional to provide advice, support, guidance, and challenge to potential, Ofsted, and agency-registered childminders in Kent, focusing on quality, inclusion, and sustainability of places for children from early years to school age, in alignment with Kent's Early Years and Childcare Service priorities.
The position aims to raise standards in childminding for funded provision of babies, two-, three-, and four-year-old's, ensuring higher achievement by the end of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Additionally, it ensures that early learning activities adhere to EYFS principles and best practices, while narrowing achievement gaps for all children, including vulnerable groups.
Due to the nature of work being carried out, you will be required to visit childcare settings across East and West Kent and an Enhanced DBS check (provided by the Company) will be carried out, please consider this before submitting your application.
What You’ll Achieve:
As Childminding Adviser you will:
Ensure high-quality, inclusive, and integrated service for childminders, adhering to relevant policies, procedures, and statutory frameworks.
Collaborate with colleagues and partners to improve childminding standards, promote equality, and ensure child well-being and achievement.
Provide tailored support to childminders and assistants, using statutory guidance and Ofsted frameworks for continuous quality improvement.
Support all eligible childminders to ensure compliance with local and government requirements for the early years entitlements.
Work with relevant colleagues and partners to ensure a coordinated approach to continuous improvement and higher standards in childminding provision and to ensure the childminding agenda is strongly positioned.

What We Require:
Degree level qualification in early years and/or childcare and/or education
Proven experience of working in early education and or childcare sector
A thorough understanding of the current issues facing childminders
Experience of supporting professionals, sometimes through difficult conversations to make improvements in practice and narrow achievement gaps
An understanding of Ofsted inspection requirements and processes, the EYFS Framework and legislation and guidance relevant to Early Years and childcare practice
Strong written and oral communicator with good attention to detail including the ability to hold professional dialogue to drive improvement
