Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Company Overview: Our client is a leading commercial groundworks contractor operating across North Wales. Specializing in high-quality groundwork and civil engineering projects, they have built a strong reputation for delivering excellence, innovation, and cost-effective solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team and play a key role in securing and delivering successful projects.
Role Overview: As a Senior QS/Estimator, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of projects, from initial estimation to final account settlement. You will work closely with the commercial and operational teams to ensure projects are accurately priced, efficiently managed, and delivered within budget and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates and tenders for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
Conduct risk analysis and value engineering assessments.
Manage procurement and subcontractor pricing negotiations.
Oversee cost control, contract administration, and valuations.
Conduct site visits to assess progress, variations, and commercial viability.
Prepare accurate reports, forecasts, and financial updates for senior management.
Ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Assist in securing new business opportunities through competitive and accurate pricing.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator within the groundworks or civil engineering sector.
Strong knowledge of commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Relevant degree (e.g., Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering) or equivalent experience.
