Responsible for effective and successfully implementation of the Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP)
* The Project Coordinator shall assist the Administrator OHCD in the accomplishment of the goals of the department.
* Manages the MEAP program that provides financial support to individuals and families.
* Responsible for the management of the Energy staff that perform the requirements necessary to provide services and the Program Process Monitoring and Review of the MEAP Program. Checks eligibility limits in accordance to community-action guidelines. Eligible participants receive payment for current and delinquent electric bills.
* Responsible for the management of the Energy Sites including Outreach, Certification, Monitoring and review of the MEAP Program.
Education and/or Experience:
* The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, a minimum of 5 years of related experience and ability to work under extreme pressure.
* Must be organized, efficient in task management, and have excellent communication skills.
* 3 years of supervising eligibility and enrollment services for low-income benefit programs.
Desired Qualifications:
* Knowledge and experience with the MD Office of Home Energy Assistance Program.
* Extensive Computer skills.
* Ability to be able to travel locally, regionally, and nationally to attend meetings, workshops, and conferences.
Duties:
* Provides fiscal oversight of business operations.
* Analyzes monthly progress reports and adjusts plans as required to meet deadlines of all contracts.
* Prepares budgets in consultation with the OHCD Director to allocate funds, control costs and maintain operations at a level consistent with operations.
* Oversees the Agency’s interface with our Community Partners.
* Ensures all staff receive required and desired training in a timely manner.
* Provides technical assistance in the field.
* Controls inventory of all equipment.
* Develops safety policies and performs activities to promote the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions for staff and contractors.
* Maintains good relationships with federal, state and local government agencies, CAP agencies and other community-based groups.
* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Shore Up policies, procedures and applicable laws.
* Responsible for interviewing, hiring, promoting, monitoring and training employees.
* Participates in planning, directing and appraising performance.
