Job Title: Works/Production Manager

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Works/Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing and production operations at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the daily production and manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality targets are met.
* Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and company objectives.
* Manage and supervise production staff, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
* Monitor and optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
* Maintain and enforce quality control measures, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
* Work closely with procurement, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
* Implement and drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Analyse production data and prepare reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
* Lead problem-solving activities and provide solutions to production challenges.
* Ensure proper maintenance and availability of machinery and equipment.
* Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Works Manager, Production Manager, or similar role in a manufacturing environment (5+ years).
* Strong knowledge of production management principles, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.
* Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in production planning and reporting tools.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
* AutoCAD beneficial.
