Compliance Technologist – Ethical & Sustainability Focus
Are you passionate about ethical trade, sustainability, and driving real-world change in the fresh produce industry?
We are on the lookout for a Compliance Executive to join the Technical & Buying team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in ensuring sourcing and supply chain meet the highest ethical, compliance, and sustainability standards.
What you’ll be doing:
* Maintain and update compliance documentation in line with retailer requirements.
* Monitor KPIs and generate reports to support strategic decisions.
* Oversee ethical compliance across the supplier base – from due diligence to Sedex verification and SAQ completion.
* Support and verify effective grievance mechanisms and worker representation.
* Manage ethical audits and risk assessments, ensuring critical issues are followed up and resolved.
* Liaise with packhouses, suppliers, and internal teams to uphold compliance at every step.
* Attend sustainability forums and industry working groups like FNET.
* Build and maintain a knowledge base of supplier sustainability initiatives and progress.
What you’ll bring:
* Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to work independently and make decisions at pace.
* Experience in the fresh produce industry and knowledge of compliance systems.
* An understanding of ethical trade standards (e.g., ETI Base Code) and retailer requirements.
