Job Description Certification Engineer Full Time Bristol SNBG 7 - 10 We are currently seeking to fill an exciting role for a Certification Engineer within the Defence team in Bristol. You will support the Defence Assembly operations teams and deliver OE and Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Certification to enable delivery commitments. As part of this role you will be responsible for certification activities for OE & MRO engines and modules requiring you to work within the certification team as and when these duties are required. What you will be doing Acquire the mandatory training approvals and warrant(s) as authorisation to carry out the project specific Certification role, and that the warrant(s) are appropriately maintained. Ensure that the Engine / Module Induct, Strip, Sentence, Repair, Build, Test, Preservation and Despatch processes have been carried out in accordance with the regulations and approved design data. Examples are EASA Part 145, EASA Part 21, MS8, Data Modules, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, Concessions and Modifications. Understand content of Work Scopes and ensure full compliance. Analyse documentation / systems to verify deviations to approved design data (e.g., TQ’s/ TV’s / Concessions / Prod Permits) that have been applied, interrogate the details within these documents, and then record details as required. Validate Modifications that are instructed, check for embodiment, interrogate the details within these documents, and then record as required. Check Service Bulletins / Airworthiness Directives / SEI’s… that are instructed, check for application, interrogate the details within these documents, and then apply as required. Interrogate As-Built data and review reports. Interrogate SAP data and produce reports. Manage the effects of non-conformance on the certification process. Author and continuously improve Certification processes and How-To guides, maintaining document version control. Update electronic and hard copy logbooks / log cards with a clear and complete record of the work carried out during the shop visit. Form and maintain effective working relationships with Engineering, Quality, Programme and Operations. Form and maintain effective working relationships with the customer / end user to support both the customer and Rolls-Royce with critical data transfer. Archive build records in accordance with RR Standard Operating Process. Participate in audits, both internal and from an external source i.e., Civil Aviation Authority. Sign for the Airworthiness and release of the product on behalf of Rolls-Royce PLC.
