A bit about this role:
1. Supervising a small team of 3/5 to ensure customer requirements and production deadlines are met.
2. Planning, communicating, and executing a production schedule to meet operational needs.
3. Preparing equipment, such as vacuum furnaces, and ensuring production settings are accurate and aligned with operational requirements.
4. Performing ‘hands-on’ tasks, such as loading and unloading furnaces when necessary, based on business needs.
5. Managing works orders using the production system, ensuring costs are accurately recorded.
6. Engaging with customers when required, including providing updates on job progress and offering technical support for sales quotes or new job requirements.
7. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure quality standards are met.
8. Working closely with the line manager and sales team to drive business growth, improve efficiencies, and achieve sales targets.
What We’re Looking For:
1. Experience working within the heat treatment industry.
2. Exposure to dealing with brazing and heavy engineering.
3. Familiarity with working to quality management standards (minimum ISO 9001).
4. Basic understanding of reading engineering drawings, projections, and tolerances.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to relay information effectively both internally and externally.
6. Strong organizational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a focused approach to work.
7. Proficiency in IT skills and experience with ERP systems.
8. Relevant supervisory experience or team leadership in a workshop or manufacturing environment.
9. Self-driven, with good interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
10. Experience in the vacuum heat treatment industry.
11. Familiarity with working to AS/EN 9100 standard and NADCAP would be advantageous.
