By joining Citi's Emerging Markets trading desk for Equities, you will be responsible for overseeing a trading book and managing the associated risk, with the objective of delivering on budgeted revenues, and developing the trading franchise further. Specifically, you will manage the execution trading across the Middle East, Central Europe, and Africa.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who already has experience of trading Emerging Markets Equities but wants to broaden their exposure by taking advantage of the breadth of coverage an institution like Citi can provide.
What you will do will be varied day to day, but the key drivers for the role are:
* Responsible for risk managing the Equities Execution trading across the Emerging Markets franchise.
* Effectively risk manage the trading books, coordinating with desk analysts as needed.
* Liaise with sales to develop the franchise, anticipating client demand in each respective product/market.
* Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
What we will need from you:
* This is not an entry level role, so the successful candidate will need to have experience of managing risk in Emerging Markets and understand how to effectively work across illiquid markets.
* You will need to be able to display a high degree of gravitas as you will be required to face off to local market regulators as a representative of Citi.
* You should have experience of trading small and mid-caps, specifically in markets where there is often limited liquidity.
* Clear and concise written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* A strong understanding of Bloomberg, booking systems, trading protocol, closing technicalities.
