About the Team We are looking for a Step Down Support Worker to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at Hawthorn Court on a part time basis. This permanent role is for 28 hours per week and involves a rota system which will involve working split shifts, morning and afternoon/evening. You also will be working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid. The Hawthorn Court offers a vibrant community atmosphere which is in Keynsham, and this is easily accessible via public transport or car. What is Extra Care? Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022. As an Extra Care Support Worker, you will: Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing. Promote tenant’s independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of care. Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants. Providing support to access third party and NHS services. Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed. Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives. About You Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential and full training will be provided.
