* We are committed to making a difference where it matters most to create meaningful futures for all.
* We invest in developing talent through our strong focus on coaching and training.
* We nurture teams: fostering a sense of belonging secured by strong purpose and healthy relationships.
New Bridge School is a generic special needs school for pupils and students between the ages of 11 and 19 across three sites within Oldham. The school is popular with families both in Oldham and the surrounding boroughs and our numbers are increasing year on year.
The school is an Outstanding rated provision which caters for 369 pupils with a wide range of SEND. All pupils have an EHC plan.
We are excited about expanding our teaching roles and creating new vacancies to meet the needs of our new pupils. The Trustees are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated practitioner to join our dynamic, growing, and committed staff team in the following area:
Main Body Class Teacher
Our main body provision is for pupils who are working towards a destination of being independent or working with support in their community. The curriculum is underpinned by the intent to maximize the ability for every pupil to live as independently as possible. We seek to offer an engaging, fun, and relevant curriculum that reflects EHCP outcomes and supports their wellbeing.
With TLR for Maths Lead
As Maths Lead, you will be responsible for implementing our teaching and Learning Model in the main body at Key Stage 3. You would also work collaboratively with the Leads for the Autism Base and Interactive Base to ensure that Maths within their teaching and learning models is accurate, comprehensive, and matched to the needs of their pupils.
The New Bridge Maths Curriculum aims to ensure that all pupils within the Main Body:
* Become fluent in the fundamentals of mathematics through varied and frequent practice.
* Reason mathematically by following a line of enquiry and developing an argument using mathematical language.
* Can solve problems by applying their mathematics to a variety of problems with increasing sophistication.
As Curriculum Lead for Maths, you would work collaboratively with KS3 form tutors to develop and implement an engaging curriculum that supports the achievement of Destinations for these pupils.
Previous experience of teaching SEN pupils is advantageous, but not essential. We can support the successful candidate to develop the specialist knowledge required to teach our pupils. We aim to support staff to achieve their own meaningful futures alongside our pupils.
This post would suit a primary specialist as the cognitive levels of our pupils in the main body are similar to those of a Primary setting. We welcome secondary practitioners with an interest in widening their teaching repertoire in an SEN setting.
The successful candidate will:
* Be an excellent practitioner with the motivation to inspire pupils’ learning and development.
* Have experience of teaching young people with Autism or Special Educational Needs or a specific interest in developing their teaching skills in a special school setting.
* Have high expectations of young people and a commitment to raising standards of attainment.
* Be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
* Have experience of current assessment practice and the use of data to ensure all groups of learners achieve.
* Possess the emotional and physical resilience necessary when working with young people with complex needs.
* Be able to build positive relationships with the class group and the wider community.
* Be hard working, organised, and proactive in their professional development.
* Be a team player who can work effectively with all members of the New Bridge team.
The post will be based initially at New Bridge School in Hollinwood, however, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group.
We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
This post will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and proof of right to work in the UK.
