The Efficiency Engineer will be responsible for leading and supporting efficiency related projects across contracts in the North East and Yorkshire region. Projects will mostly focus on improving energy efficiency and reducing energy costs for both customers and/or Veolia. What we can offer you: 25 days of annual leave Access to our people’s pension scheme Free physiotherapy service Discounts on everything from groceries to well known retailers Access to a range of resources to support your physical, mental and financial health; so you can lean on us whenever you need to Ongoing training and development opportunities, allowing you to reach your full potential What you'll be doing: Lead and coordinate efficiency projects, working closely with engineers and operational teams Identify and develop energy-saving initiatives and projects to preserve natural resources Manage project timelines, meet deadlines, and ensure timely delivery of outputs Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and maintaining strong relationships Work autonomously to plan, prioritize, and manage tasks effectively Contribute to improved customer satisfaction and contract renewals through successful project delivery Support environmental impact reduction in project execution and equipment selection What we're looking for: Essential At least 2 of engineering experience Bachelor degree in either Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical engineering Computer literate, including use of Google Docs, Sheets, Smartsheets Strong interpersonal and communication skills Foundational knowledge and application of H&S best practice, including implementing safety procedures (permit to work, risk assessments etc) Problem solving skills Strong organisation and prioritisation skills Ability to form effective working relationships with operational teams, clients and contractors Clean driving license Desirable: Experience working in an energy generation operations environment Steam boiler training Experience using Lean six sigma project tools Application of continuous improvement methodology Understanding of CDM regulations Formal project management training and qualifications What's next?
