Job Responsibilities
1. Comply with Estimating Best Practice processes
2. Responsible for receipt of accurate records of tender and contract documents
3. Prepare detailed bills of quantities to allow tenderers to price works accurately
4. Compile tender comparisons to ensure only complete sub-contract bids are considered
5. Present tender at settlement meeting and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of best winning approach to be taken
6. Offer advice on risks, value engineering options and other work winning strategies
7. Ensure all risks are understood and evaluated so that they are considered for inclusion in the tender presented at the settlement
8. Handover tenders that are won to the project team and maintain contact to ensure all knowledge is successfully transferred
9. Work closely with the supply chain to ensure they continue to provide competitive tenders, ensure delivery teams are aware of those sub-contractors that have contributed to ensure they are given a fair opportunity to secure work with the company when tender is successful and give honest, timely feedback when a tender is lost
10. Contribute to database of tenders for historical data and average rates
11. Provide cost planning and other cost advice both internally and to consultants if required

Essential Skills and Qualifications
1. Recognised construction based higher education qualification (HNC/HND, etc.)
2. and/or minimum 6 years' experience in an estimating role
3. Knowledge of the construction industry processes
4. Accurate measurement and billing of tender information
5. Able to identify and evaluate risks
6. Proven planning and process management skills
7. Knowledge of different procurement routes, particularly design and build
8. Attention to detail and accuracy
9. Methodical approach to duties
