Job Title: Interim Service Manager – QA / IRO / CP Chair
Location: Hybrid – 2–3 days per week on-site - South West of England (ideally Tuesdays for team meetings)
Day Rate: £450 per day
Contract: Initial 3 months (extension likely pending perm recruitment)
Start Date: ASAP
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Interim Service Manager to oversee the Quality Assurance function with a particular focus on IRO services and Child Protection Chairs. You’ll provide leadership across a critical part of our safeguarding infrastructure, with a key role in preparation for Ofsted and the delivery of a robust QA framework during a time of transformation.
Your role as an Interim Service Manager - QA/IRO/CP Chair:
1. Strategic and operational oversight of the IRO/CP Chair service
2. Line manage and support QA staff
3. Drive quality and consistency across safeguarding practice
4. Lead on audit, service development, and improvement plans
5. Report directly to Head of QA
Essential Skills as an Interim Service Manager - QA/IRO/CP Chair:
1. Social Work qualified with current SWE registration
2. Experience managing IROs or CP Chairs (preferably has done the role)
3. Previous experience within an RI or Inadequate Ofsted-rated authority
4. Enhanced DBS (current)
5. Immediate availability
