We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our team as a Floating Support Worker. In this role you will support a caseload of service users, ensuring that each client is provided with person centred support and is empowered to make positive changes in their lives. You will support service's users in maintaining their tenancies where issues have arisen and support those that are homeless (but not street homeless) in finding accommodation that suits their needs. You will also support those moving from temporary accommodation into suitable new tenancies. You will work within service user’s homes and in the community, providing advice and support and ensuring they are able to access health care and improve their mental and physical health; sustain their housing; accessing appropriate benefits and financial support; access work, training, and other opportunities; be active in their community and develop strong support networks to support their ongoing recovery. You will have excellent communication skills with a keen interest in supporting people to maximise their independence and recovery. Where: Nottinghamshire, County Wide Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week Full Tine Salary: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 dependent on experience, (bsed on full time hours -pro rata if part time) Contract Typ e: Fixed term until 31st March 2025 Key Activities: Managing a caseload of service users Develop and maintain excellent working links/partnerships with community agencies and resources, including housing providers, training and educational providers Work alongside Recovery Coordinators to support service users to access housing and/or maintain their tenancy Work alongside Recovery Coordinators to support service users into education and training and other opportunities within the community To identify and pro-actively support access to a comprehensive range of resources to support recovery within the community Providing outreach support and guidance, empowering people and providing them with the skills and confidence to be able to maintain and continue to make positive life choices Advocate for individuals in a multi-agen cy setting where needed About you: An understanding and knowledge of the harmful effects associated with drug and alcohol use in relation to health, social welfare, housing, employability, and personal relationships. An understanding of the impact that substance misuse has on individuals’ ability to access other services and support. Minimum of 12 months experience of facilitating successful tenancy sustainment and working to achieve positive community connections. Knowledge of local Registered Social Landlords and tenancy issues that affect our service user group Knowledge of local services and relevant interventions to support and sustain recovery especially related to training and education. Knowledge of benefits and applying for benefits in a supportive role. A clear understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and boundaries. Knowledge of referral pathways for safeguarding concerns.
