An exciting opportunity exists to join a flexible, dynamic, and motivated team within Lloyds Registers Ship Emergency Response Service (SERS). The pioneering service, which was the first of its kind and has been in operation for more than 30 years, provides round the clock access to technical advice for the maritime community in the event that of a shipboard emergency such as flooding, grounding, explosion or a loss in stability, etc.

Participate in drills and emergencies as a member of the SERS on:call team
:
Prepare and maintain computer models of marine assets
:
Develop and maintain emergency response tools and procedures
:
Develop and deliver training internally and externally
:
Undertake consultancy projects
:
Peer review colleagues work
:
Pursue continual professional development, to keep up to date with current vessel operations and technology trends.
What you bring

A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyds Register within the relevant field of engineering or physical science (minimum of two years program) or Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea:going experience as a certificated ships officer

The ability to pay attention to details

The ability to work with speed and accuracy even when under time pressure

Excellent communication skills appropriate to the audience

Excellent command of the English language
:
Demonstrated skills in coordinating projects

Membership of an appropriate professional institution and working towards chartered status.
