Main Duties and Accountabilities
1. Teaching our PSHE Scheme of Work, adjusting it when necessary, based on the needs of our learners.
2. Using a range of teaching and learning strategies and resources, adapted to individual needs, in line with the College’s teaching and learning policy.
3. Developing learning resources and learning routes that meet learner needs, and the Catch22 and commissioner requirements.
4. Implementing and maintaining systems for monitoring and evaluating learning activities, to ensure they are effective and worthwhile, and best practice is maintained.
5. Identifying clear teaching objectives, learning outcomes, and IEPs.
6. Maintaining good order and discipline among the students, safeguarding their wellbeing. Setting high expectations for behaviour, with responsibility for behaviour management within your classroom; aiding in behavioural management across the College.
Qualifications
We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:
7. A recognised teaching qualification (or working towards)
8. An extensive knowledge and understanding of how to use and adapt a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies, including how to personalise learning - to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
9. Experience of working with a cohort of young people including those with complex, high behaviour and additional learning needs.
10. A flexible, creative, and adaptable approach, with the ability to effectively use a variety of teaching and organisational styles and resources, including ICT, to deliver outstanding teaching and learning.
11. Ability to work as part of a team to deliver a holistic educational package.
12. Desirable: L3 Award in Education and Training; Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers and other stakeholders; Experience with safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of learners.
