SHIFT WORK REQ'D:
DUTIES:
Reporting to the Systems Administrator or designate, this position will:
1. Maintain the GIS portion for the Motorola, CSR, Contact Centre and Mapviewer system by updating and creating geospatial data.
2. Provide functional support for the CSR module and departmental reports under the Cognos system.
3. Prepare geodatabases and map files that have specific requirements;
4. Create, maintain and update procedures for the creation of geodatabases.
5. Develop and maintain a specific address locator.
6. Provide solutions for discrepancies that exist in all GIS data from various sources.
7. Assist in coordinating GIS development and maintenance of geospatial layers for Customer Contact Centre applications.
8. Create geospatial layers that do not yet exist or that are unique to departmental needs and perform operations required to enter graphical data or tabular data into the GIS system.
9. Author, run and monitor specialized advanced custom reports using Cognos reporting software.
10. Provide data analytics related to Customer Contact Centre platforms.
11. Communicate and liaise with various departments to update existing geolayers; attend meetings as required.
12. Troubleshoot software issues and create and execute test scripts in the training database for all new software patches, releases, and upgrades prior to implementation to production.
13. Provide formal CSR training and ongoing support to Contact Centre staff and other departments; create and update mapping training manual.
14. Perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program.
15. Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have a three (3) year degree or diploma from a university or community college in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Urban Planning/Geography, Computer Science, or related field, plus one (1) year post-University or College courses in GIS or Certificate in GIS, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalencies;
2. Must have over one (1) year of experience working with a GIS System/Data Base with demonstrated working experience using the ESRI software;
3. Must have demonstrated work experience with computer applications such as customer relationship management, business process systems or databases.
4. Must possess an advanced level of skill in Excel;
5. Must have demonstrated working knowledge of relational databases, such as Microsoft Access, Oracle, SQL or others;
6. Must possess strong analytical skills with a demonstrated working knowledge of business process modeling;
7. Must be able to deal calmly and professionally with users;
8. Must be able to interpret a complicated problem/solution and explain it in non-technical terms;
9. Must have good written and verbal communications skills and possess strong problem-solving skills;
10. Must have a demonstrated ability to train staff;
11. Should have experience in an Intranet or Internet environment – either in mapping or programming;
12. Amanda/ CSR / Cognos experience is a definite asset;
13. The physical demands analysis associated with this job indicates a sedentary level of work.
