I am seeking a high calibre person to join my long-established team rated as “Outstanding” by the CQC.
Following an accident, I have made a substantial recovery and am now living independently within my own property on the outskirts of Salisbury with support during the day. I am capable of managing life on my own in the evenings and at night-time. I do not require personal care but instead require someone with high levels of positive energy, enthusiasm, and dedication.
I am a fit and mobile fifty something man with a thirst for life and adventure. I am seeking a support worker to join my team permanently for 24-36 hours per week, who have a reputation for providing support in an understanding, flexible and empathetic way.
I have a structured timetable designed with me to access meaningful and enjoyable activities within the community, which provides me with a sense of purpose, fulfilment, and self-worth. I sometimes find life challenging and frustrating, due to my brain injury however I have a structured program which enables me to work with my team to overcome these difficulties.
I am seeking a person with a strong desire to have a positive effect on me, and a commitment to supporting and promoting my individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals.
Personal qualities of resilience, empathy and self-confidence are as important as previous experience. Although an understanding of behavioural management would be an advantage. Having similar interests in the outdoors and walking which I enjoy and try to do regularly.
Full driving licence and own car essential. Mileage on shift is paid at .45p per mile.
This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS.

What you will be working:
We use a 3-week rolling rota and you would be expected to work 2 weeks of 2 x 12-hour shifts and 1 week of 3 shifts x 12 hours, a fixed rota is already in operation by the team but there is some flexibility if needed.
(To include a Saturday and Sunday each third weekend).
You will be required to help cover holiday and sickness as and when needed.
Hourly Rate
£12.00 per hour Monday - Saturday
£13.39 per hour Sundays
What you will have:
Some experience of caring for children with learning, physical and communication difficulties is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
Recent training in the following areas would be an advantage:
* Equality and diversity
* Health and safety at work
* Control of substances hazardous to health
* Fire safety awareness
* Infection control
* Food hygiene
* Manual handling
* First aid / basic life support including CPR
* Safeguarding vulnerable adults
* Safeguarding vulnerable children
* Conflict management
* Lone working
You will be expected to use information technology such as email, intranet, electronic records etc. Training and support will be provided as necessary, and you are expected to maintain your IT skills in order for you to carry out your duties.
We are a CIW Registered healthcare business who help our clients recruit their own support workers. You will be employed directly by the client; however, Westcountry Case Management oversee all aspects of the clients care package on his behalf.
