An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Rheumatology department for an experienced nurse to join the Rheumatology team. We are looking for a motivated and innovative applicant to join us to support service development.
Under the supervision of the senior Rheumatology nursing team, the role involves the assessment, management, and treatment of patients with inflammatory arthritis and osteoporosis in an outpatient setting as well as patient education and health promotion. There will be opportunities to participate in research, quality improvement projects, audits, and educational meetings.
This is a developmental post with the opportunity to progress into a Band 7 post once the satisfactory level of competency framework as per Royal College of Nursing is achieved.
The post holder will provide specialist nursing care, advice and support for people with inflammatory arthritis. This will involve developing knowledge and skills to autonomously manage a case load of patients with Inflammatory joint disease in nurse led outpatient clinics with Clinical Supervision from the Senior Rheumatology Nurse specialist team and Consultant Rheumatologist. The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team, undertaking all relevant forms of nursing care and patient management, supported by evidence-based practice, guided by the RCN competency framework for Rheumatology Nurses.
The post holder must always act in an accountable manner, adhering to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Trust policies.
