Due to growth, our small animal practice in Clevedon is currently looking to recruit for a part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our busy small animal team and train to become an OV.
You will have the opportunity to work with two experienced Vets, five nurses including three RVNs, one qualified behaviourist, and one training nurse, as well as a strong team of receptionists.
The bright, spacious practice is purpose-built to industry-leading standards and has state-of-the-art equipment including digital x-rays, in-house laboratory facilities, and an ultrasound scanner. Our head vet has an interest in surgery including BOAS procedures and reproductive health. We always look to promote and utilise our nurses as much as possible, including schedule 3 procedures. We work closely with an external mobile ultra-sonographer and orthopaedic surgery team. Having been only open for 9 years, the practice itself is still relatively fresh and new.
Clevedon is a beautiful seaside town just off of the M5. It boasts great transport links to both Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare, both of which are less than 15 miles away. Bristol airport is a mere 11 miles away, meaning a quick escape on holiday.
Person Specification
This is a part-time role of 20-30 hours per week with a 1 in 3 Saturday rota and no OOH, allowing for a great work/life balance. You will need to be confident and happy to take sole charge responsibility and have at least 2 years’ experience. You must also enjoy building relationships with patients, clients, and colleagues.
Benefits
As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we offer a supportive and friendly working environment together with career development opportunities, an excellent package, and great benefits that include; competitive salary (£38,000 - £55,000 depending on experience), CPD allowance (approx. £3,000 a year, certificates can be discussed), RCVS fees paid, Pension, and exclusive company discounts and rewards - including 20% off at Pets at Home and the Vet Group.
If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service, and would like to join our friendly but slightly mad team, then we would love to hear from you.

Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
