Job Description
This role will assist the Senior Leadership Team in the day to day running of the AFRS (Airport Fire & Rescue Service) including assisting to develop and maintain policy and processes that ensures the AFRS meet regulatory requirements and the business needs of Heathrow Airport. Lead and oversee on Fire Service projects as required, deputise for AFRS SLT and/or represent AFRS in stakeholder meetings as required.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the review and development of effective working relationships with internal/external departments and organisations.
* Leading debriefs and reviews following any incident, utilising all relevant information to produce incident summary reports.
* Developing contingency plans, systematically reviewing and developing risk assessments, utilising the risk register, being aware of the key risks to the business, complying with the mitigation practices in the risk register and taking a lead safety role both on and off Station.
* Contributing to the effective delivery of the Airport Fire & Rescue Service business plan by managing the efficient running of the station.
* Leading and participating in projects/working parties and maintaining references to improve, maintain and comply with licensing and regulatory standards.
* Managing budgetary responsibility for the assigned reference area, sitting on project boards, reviewing and rewriting procedures.
Qualifications
* Holds a UK full driving licence up to class 'C' LGV.
* Holds a current aviation supervisor qualification and ICS level 2 qualification or be able to achieve.
* Current IEC, First Aid and/or Basic Life Support including an AED certificate or be able to achieve.
* Proven skills, ability and general experience in a subordinate role is required with thorough experience working within the Fire Service (either with Heathrow Airport Fire & Rescue Service or an outside Fire & Rescue Service Authority).
Ideally, you'll also have:
* Intermediate level of IT literacy e.g., HRMS, Redkite and the Microsoft suite.

Working Location
Our hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
