Under the direction of the Class teacher and SENDCo, main duties may involve delivering the provision as stated in the EHCP; supporting children in class to access the curriculum; one-to-one intervention and small group work. This may also include delivering interventions such as speech and language and phonic keep up. This post is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders act (1974) as it involves direct work with children. We are looking to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic, hard-working and highly effective Teaching Assistant to support children across the infant age range, including children with additional needs. Ideally, the successful candidate would have previous experience of working with children with communication and interaction difficulties and be willing to carry out intimate care. The successful candidate should be able to work flexibly and intuitively to meet needs. Part of this position will involve working with children who have social and emotional difficulties that impact their ability to engage with and access learning. Support from the SENDCo and other agencies will be provided.
