An opportunity has arisen within East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust for a LED Core Trainee (CT1 or CT2) in Urology. The Urology post is based at Eastbourne District General Hospital, and is to commence as soon as possible.
This is a development post and ideally suited for a CT doctor wishing to make the transition to ST level training. The post holder will be supervised and will be trained in flexible cystoscopy and minor surgical skills. There will also be exposure to TRUS, Fusion Transperinial & Template biopsies. You will also have the opportunity to attend theatre sessions with the Da Vinci Robot. We have a successful track record in getting trainees through the National Selection Process. This post is ideally suited for someone interested in a career in urology., You will be expected to admit emergency patients as required, to record their findings and generally investigate and prepare the patients for surgical operation or other treatment under the guidance of the Senior Medical Staff. You will be required to help with the management of ward patients, and will be encouraged to attend the operating theatre both routine and elective. Ideally the candidate should have completed at least two years of Post Graduate Medical Training or equivalent. Eastbourne is the Regional Centre for major Robotic Urology. Candidates must hold current Full GMC registration.
