Being part of Outwood Academy City Fields is about bringing high-quality opportunities and experiences to our diverse school. We wish to employ someone who can provide meaningful engagement and help all children, staff and visitors thrive in the areas they work.
City Fields is a multicultural school in the heart of the Wakefield community. Our school supports the local community and the wealth of opportunities our diverse background brings. Anyone wanting to take on this role should be prepared to challenge themselves to meet the needs of a diverse community.
Ofsted noted that putting ‘students first’ is something that directs and guides actions each day. ‘Because leaders set such a strong example of their high ambitions for pupils, other staff mirror these aspirations’. ‘Outwood Academy City Fields is a school where leaders want the very best for pupils’ in whatever walk of life they engage in.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Science. You will have good subject knowledge, a passion for Science, and want students to love Science as much as we do. You will be excited to share your love of science with our students.
The Science department at City Fields is an eight strong team of experienced teachers who offer our school a wealth of knowledge and experience. Our team contains a variety of science specialists from all disciplines and staff are always on hand to help out with theory or practical queries in their specialist area. We are very much a team and no one is left on their own at City Fields.
We have one fantastic technician who services eight labs, two of which are brand new state of the art labs and we are expanding our practical facilities each year. We also have an in-house one to one tutor to support our students in our bespoke one to one teaching room.
Our students come from a wide range of multicultural backgrounds and many go on to study science in their further education. They are very much influenced by their aspirational and enthusiastic science teachers to pursue science further. You will be making a difference to their lives every day. We offer extracurricular science activities to our younger students to nurture a love and curiosity of science from the start of their time here, and we also work with our local primary schools to share this passion and curiosity with younger students as well.
We hope you can join us on our journey!
