Sales Ledger Assistant
* Department: Student Accounts
* Location: Oxford Head Office - Hybrid 3 days per week on-site
* Hours per week: 37.5 Monday to Friday
* Salary: £24,000
The role is to support the Management Accountant and Team Leader in producing a set of monthly and/or quarterly management accounts per site. This role has responsibility for key areas of European reporting, including VAT reporting and timely invoicing.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks
1. Ensure all banking entries are entered onto the TCAS and Dream system daily with the support of the QX processing team and site team.
2. Manage client bank accounts and reconciliations (including credit card payment breakdown) on a daily basis and investigate where differences arise.
3. Update tax reporting and invoicing spreadsheets as required.
4. Ensure timely invoicing per specific country requirements; weekly for Portuguese sites.
5. Process annual Tenant Deposit refunds and early leaver refunds as required.
6. Contribute to the delivery of month-end and management accounts.
1. Assist in accrual and prepayment preparation if necessary.
2. Reconcile debtor and creditor payments.
3. Reconcile VAT/IVA in Dream.
7. Assist in answering audit queries, site team queries, and client requests including bank covenants in a timely manner.
8. Assist in the completion and filing of VAT/IVA returns.
9. Participate in process improvement.
1. Assist in the continuous improvement of management reporting.
2. Assist in the improvement and documentation of processes and procedures within Client Accounts.
10. Ensure all company policies are adhered to.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills
Academic Qualifications
* Studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA. QBE will be considered.
Experience (in years)
* Minimum of 6 months in an accounting or finance role or relevant post of similar responsibility.
Skills
* Experience with bank reconciliations.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including V Lookups, If Statements, and Pivot Tables.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
* Knowledge of Dream and TCAS would be an asset.
