Position: Blackpool Council is seeking to recruit an additional Business Intelligence Officer to join our Business Intelligence Team.
Role Overview: The role will provide data and analytics support for an innovative, multi-agency project, funded by the Youth Futures Foundation (YFF) Connected Futures Fund, aimed at reducing high levels of youth unemployment in Blackpool and improving how young people are supported to progress into Education, Training, and Employment.
Key Responsibilities: We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who is able to build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders and can support end users to make use of available data effectively. You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, good attention to detail, and be able to successfully analyse business problems. You should also have experience of querying, manipulating, and analysing large data sets and be able to present the results in an appropriate and meaningful way. An understanding of local government and particularly Children’s Services is desirable.
Working Conditions: The post offers hybrid working, working partly from home and partly in the office. Successful candidates will require a flexible approach to these working arrangements. Requests for part-time working patterns or job share will be considered.

Additional Requirements: This post requires access to PSN (Public Services Network) services or networks and the successful post holder will be required to undertake a Basic Disclosure check of unspent convictions through Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). This post is also subject to satisfactory references, medical clearance, evidence of any essential qualifications, and proof of legal working in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
