Job summary We are recruiting a part-time experienced Dispenser to join our friendly GP dispensing team for 25 hours per week. It is important for us to find the right person to fit in with our friendly team who cover dispensary - Monday to Fridays 8.00am to 6.30pm. Flexibility with hours would be beneficial. Taking repeat prescription requests, checking that they are correct and allowable i.e. patient is not overusing, medication review is not overdue, that they are authorised by a GP. To collect all due prescription charges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient. To ensure that all monies received or handled on behalf of the Practice are appropriately stored and for the Practice Manager to maintain a record of all financial transactions. To promptly forward all invoices/statements and dispensary related correspondence to the Practice Manager according to Practice policy. To notify the authorising doctor/designated dispenser of any FP10 returns/feedback from the PPA so that any appropriate remedial action may be taken. To assist in operating efficient stock control appropriate to the needs of the Practice with the objective of ensuring continuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage through out of date stock. When orders arrive from wholesaler checking that they have been correctly despatched as ordered, have arrived undamaged and in the correct quantities. To ensure that refrigerated items are stored at the appropriate temperature and to maintain a temperature control record/logbook. To maintain full and accurate records of all dispensing transactions incorporating the use of computer software such as EMIS Web as appropriate.
