Key responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging English lessons tailored to individual student needs.
* Support students with behavioral, emotional, and social difficulties.
* Motivate and inspire students using a range of teaching strategies.
* Assess and track student progress, setting challenging targets.
* Work collaboratively with other staff members to provide a holistic approach to student development.
* Maintain a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
* Implement individual learning plans and support personalized learning.
* Participate in extracurricular activities and contribute to school initiatives.
* Liaise with parents/carers, external agencies, and stakeholders to support student progress and well-being.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 level.
* Proven ability to work effectively with SEN students, including SEMH challenges.
* Strong classroom management skills, with experience in challenging environments.
* Genuine commitment to inclusive education and a desire to support all students to achieve their full potential.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
* Experience working in alternative provision, PRUs, or similar settings.
* Knowledge of restorative approaches and trauma-informed teaching practices.
* Experience in implementing behavior management strategies.
