In this role you will:
1. Support the Head of Health and Safety, to deliver on Scania’s vision of becoming the best in class for our industry.
2. Oversee the delivery of the Scania GB Health and Safety strategy, directly managing the Health and Safety Advisor.
3. Deputise for the Head of Health & Safety, as and when required.
4. Development and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work for our core operational activities as well as our non-routine business.
5. Monitoring of our accident & incident reporting system with investigations undertaken as required.
6. Create weekly and monthly statistic reports, presenting your findings in the weekly health and safety update.
7. Monitor existing and new contractors, including their conduct and credentials.
8. Review, improve and create health and safety processes and systems of work.
9. Consult and liaise with the workforce and senior management on H&S matters.
About you:
NEBOSH Diploma certified AND Chartered Member of IOSH
Leadership: a proven track record managing a team and influencing senior stakeholders, to deliver a countrywide Health and Safety strategy.
Organised: able to simultaneously handle multiple objectives, accurately tracking your key action points, seeing each point through to delivery.
Diligent: working with excellent attention to detail, in all that you do.
Confident communicator: able to clearly present and communicate changes, statistics, processes, and updates to stakeholders throughout our network.
IT literate: able to learn, manage and become the in-house expert across multiple internal health and safety systems.
Willing to travel: visiting and building relationships with the 40 plus branches throughout the UK network.
