This is a fantastic opportunity for a psychology graduate to make a meaningful impact by supporting students who have faced challenges in their education, helping them build confidence, reengage with learning, and develop important life skills. About the School: This small provision caters for young people aged 11-14 who have experienced disruptions to their education. The school focuses on rebuilding students' confidence and self-esteem through a multi-agency approach, combining academic support with emotional and therapeutic development. With a capacity for 32 students (currently 12 on roll), the school ensures a personalised learning experience with small class sizes (3-5 pupils) and a high staff-to-student ratio. Students also participate in enriching activities like horse riding, team-building, and vocational training in beauty and hairdressing, helping them gain life skills and qualifications alongside their academic development. Your Role as a Psychology Graduate: Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural challenges, helping them reengage with learning. Work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored support strategies based on students' individual needs. Assist in creating and implementing learning and behaviour plans to support students' academic and emotional growth. Encourage students to develop coping strategies, emotional regulation, and resilience. Help deliver life skills activities, including team-building and vocational qualifications. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting confidence and self-esteem. What We're Looking For: A degree in Psychology (or related field). Passion for working with young people, especially those with additional needs. Strong understanding of psychological theories and how they can be applied in an educational setting. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude in supporting students. Flexibility to adapt support based on individual student needs.
