SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant Location: Hedge End Start Date: Immediate Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Salary Scale: £12.82 - £14.72 per hour (Depending on experience) GSL Education are actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive school in Hedge End. In this role, you will provide essential support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping to facilitate an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Your focus will be on promoting each child’s personal, academic, and social development, adapting strategies to support individual learning goals effectively. Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring a positive and safe learning environment Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored support based on individual education plans (IEPs) Help students develop social, emotional, and academic skills through structured activities and support Encourage positive behaviour and adapt approaches to meet diverse learning needs Track student progress and maintain detailed records for use in assessments and reviews Required Qualifications for an SEN Teaching Assistant: Experience working with children with SEN in an educational or care setting Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding protocols Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt and work flexibly within a team environment Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable) As an ethical, inclusive, and independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support staff in schools across the UK.
