In this role you will be helping to ensure that Forestry Commission delivered grants are designed to be attractive to land managers, deliver Government Policy and ensure that they comply with the Government Functional Standards.
The purpose of this role is to manage projects and tasks contributing to the detailed design and improvement of incentives that are delivered by the Forestry Commission. This work will consider how the incentives can support policy objectives, comply with Government grant standards and operational delivery.
Key work areas
Contribute to the detailed design of one or more incentives that are or will be delivered by the Forestry Commission by managing key development projects.
Work with stakeholders to ensure the grants are effective and work with Compliance colleagues to ensure they comply with Government standards for grant delivery.
Line manage and direct the work of at least one Project Officer, and be responsible for the recruitment into the wider team as required.
Work closely with colleagues involved in the management and development of other incentives, including to share/build lessons learned.
Act as a point of escalation for complex enquiries and novel or challenging casework matters as they arise.
Undertake approvals of grant applications and claims.
Quality assure the information used by senior managers for reporting against programme and government targets.
Any FC parent, office, subject to office capacity. Regular (monthly) attendance at the FC’s Bristol Office will be expected.
