Job overview
NELFT is shaping the future and recognises the importance of having a strong performance function across the organisation to ensure we continue to deliver on all local and national targets. The Performance Team requires a BI Analyst to meet support the needs of the Mid & South Essex community collaborative's reporting obligations.
Applicants must have excellent Microsoft Office skills, experience in using Information/IT systems and Excel spread sheets. They must also to be able to work to tight deadlines and adjust to changing priorities, be very organised, able to take initiative, and identify and problem solve creatively. The post will be based in CEME, and will also have to be able to agile work across other Trust locations.
Main duties of the job
The Business Intelligence Analyst will be a member of the Performance and Business Intelligence team and provide an effective support function to the whole team and members of the Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative.
This will include leading on the delivery and development of Business Intelligence projects and targets, monitoring of contracts and working closely with the MSE collaborative and it’s provider organisations to support their requirements.
The post holder will manage the analysis of data and information that provides the collaborative with intelligent monitoring of its performance and compliance against performance and quality standards and regulations.
The post holder will work with the Performance and Business Intelligence teams to embed a culture of performance management across the collaborative.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for monitoring requests and actively working on developing BI Solutions to the highest potential- meeting world class standards
2. Responsible for the creation of detailed specifications outlining the optimal delivery of Performance and BI output.
3. Using the necessary tools to make best use of team skills and capacity in delivering against the Performance and BI strategy
4. Manage the demand and expectations of external stakeholders including, but not limited to, other teams in the collaborative, ICS/B, and national bodies

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
High Cost Area Supplement
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436).

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The Performance and Business Intelligence team is made up of Performance and SQL analysts & Contract Managers.
We are a Dynamic, hard working team of around 30 staff, and work together to deliver the reporting requirements across the whole Trust footprint.
We now predominantly use Power BI to deliver the data in a PBI format to our users, either by the use of internal apps for services to monitor their performance or by setting up external access to our commissioners for them to also access their data directly.
We all work together to share skills and knowledge with our team to deliver any asks which come our way.
Specific responsibilities and duties for this role
5. To work with the Performance Manager in the setting up and delivery of the MSE requests.
6. To co-ordinate and contribute towards the development, maintenance and review of new routine and ad-hoc reporting requirements.
7. To proactively keep abreast of development in national policy and legislation and bring together suggestions for procedural and documentation amendments as needed.
8. To ensure the highest quality of data by ensuring a thorough quality assurance process is in place on any output.
9. Provide appropriate support in the use of healthcare analytic tools and the interpretation of the data they deliver.
10. Introduce/maintain automated performance reporting and dashboard solutions to provide high quality information that satisfies regulatory, contractual and business reporting requirements, aiming for standardisation and consistency wherever feasible. Working closely with colleagues to achieve this.
11. To liaise with external stakeholders and the MSE working groups to identify the asks for each of the workstreams to be able to deliver monitoring against reporting requirements.
12. To ensure information is tracked appropriately and readily available.
13. To attend and contribute to relevant meetings both internal/external pertaining to the role.
14. To ensure own professional development and regular updating of professional knowledge.
15. To provide cover for other members of the team as appropriate to ensure an effective service is provided across the trust and collaborative at all times.
