Maintenance Officer (Fixed Term until 01/01/2026)
About us
The Early Help Section of Warrington Children Services is looking to recruit a full-time fixed-term Maintenance Officer to maintain and support the emerging Family Hubs in Warrington (currently Children’s Centres). We are seeking a well-experienced person with a trade (preferably joinery) who has a keen eye for detail and is invested in supporting children and their families to have the best opportunities in Warrington at their local Family Hub.
The role
The main purpose of the position is to quality control and provide technical support for all reactive repairs, maintenance, and stock improvement works to ensure that the organization's assets are maintained and developed in accordance with agreed business plans, objectives, and standards. As a member of the estates team and reporting to the Estate Site Manager, the Maintenance Officer will be required to support the facilities across all Early Help premises and ensure compliance is maintained. The Estate Manager and Maintenance Officer are responsible for the day-to-day operational management, health, safety, and security of the Early Help premises. The team is also responsible for ensuring the centres are well maintained, safe, and secure for all users.
The post holder will work 37 hours a week on a fixed-term basis of 12 months. Some flexibility is required to meet the needs of contractors and centre users.
An enhanced DBS check will be required.
What's needed?
The post holder must demonstrate an awareness of health & safety and compliance, understand building security and ground maintenance, be able to oversee maintenance contractors, and hold general maintenance and repair skills – skills in joinery are preferred.
